About the school

Trinity Lutheran Early Childhood Center offers full-time and part-time programs for children age one through five. This school has been serving families in the Delray Beach area since 1948. It’s open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, with extended care. The staff is committed to “developing loving and caring relationships between children, their peers, parents and teachers.” One parent describes the property and classrooms as “clean and neat.”

Educational philosophy and administration

Trinity Lutheran Early Childhood Center incorporates faith into its curriculum, striving to provide contemporary and varied lessons within a Christ-based framework. Teachers focus on creating opportunities for children to explore, create, discover and make decisions, while encouraging their language, literacy and self-esteem. Lesson plans focus on nine different areas of development: spiritual, language/social, emotional, creative, academic, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, science and social studies. When children are done with the program, they should have gained various skills they’ll use throughout their lives, including how to pray, manners, independent thinking, self-expression, counting, how to hold crayons properly, hand-eye coordination and dental health. Students can also take classes in computer/tech, music and Spanish. One parent praises the curriculum as being “among the best in the state, along with technology and elective choices.” Director RaQuel Marteen leads the staff at Trinity Lutheran Early Childhood Center. She upholds a very high standard of morals and conduct among her teaching staff, ensuring the school is a welcoming place for students of all walks of life. The campus is 10,000 square feet, featuring nine spacious classrooms, an enclosed playground, a gym/multi-purpose room and an office area with a sick room. One parent highlights, “In our present-day environment where things are so unsure — We take great comfort in knowing our kids are in a safe school.”
