About the school

Royal Kids Academy offers full-time preschool programs for children age one through five, including VPK. The academy also offers elementary school classes for students through age 12. Royal Kids started serving Hialeah Gardens families in 1994. It’s open from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. Parents describe the atmosphere as “inviting.” This APPLE accredited school has been called the “best private school in Dade County.” Royal Kids Academy aims to “equip students with the tools they need for academic, personal and social achievement.”

Educational philosophy and administration

Royals Kids Academy implements The Creative Curriculum, a comprehensive, research-based curriculum that promotes exploration and discovery as a way of learning. The Creative Curriculum enables children to develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical thinking skills. The school prides itself for its “creative, unique teaching styles, with multi-age grouping.” School leaders say this provides a “well-rounded curriculum,” emphasizing language, math, music and science to promote “diversity and cultural awareness.” The program achieves this through “teacher-facilitated play with the teacher as a guide, as well as child-directed play opportunities.” The academy also offers Spanish classes. Yeisell Baro is both director and owner of Royal Kids Academy. Parents praise Yeisell and her staff, calling them “very good,” and noting that they put “love and care into everything they do.” Teachers provide parents with daily notes on their child’s progress. Parents describe the staff as “very professional.”
