About the school

Bottega Child Development Center offers full-time programs for children age 18 months through five years, including VPK. Bottega began serving families in Miami in 2013. It’s open Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 6:30pm, with after-care. The school follows the Reggio Emilia approach, and seeks to offer students “a strong sense of self and others with strong values that include nurture, kindness, respect, co-construct, think, process creativity, imagination, reflection and communication.” The boutique school’s facility includes three classrooms, a piazza area and an atelier.

Educational philosophy and administration

Bottega Child Development Center follows the Reggio Emilia approach, which is rooted in student-centered, experiential learning. Within this approach, young children are viewed as individuals who are innately curious about the world around them. Learning is directed by students and building relationships within the classroom is core to growth and development. The school’s custom curricular framework includes elements of Habits of Mind, Conscious Discipline and the Teaching for Understanding Framework, which was developed at Harvard University.
