CEA’s approach is to develop the whole child by educating human beings who are disciplined in their studies, passionate about their individual talents, aware of their social responsibilities, and who have a knowledge of and appreciation for the arts. Students prepare for the world through the development of their character and intellect, through experiential learning and exploration, and by cultivating integrity, kindness, and empathy through a culture of respect, social and self-awareness, and moral responsibility. One parent described the curriculum at CEA as “top notch.” Another says, “What really sets CEA apart from other schools, however, is their attention to the arts.” CEA’s Director Emeritus, Maribel Zubieta Diaz, states that the school focuses on teaching children “how to think, not what to think.” Parents describe the staff at CEA as “very caring” and “friendly.” One parent commented on the “sense of love, comprehension, and freedom” that CEA instills in its students. Another remarked, “The teachers, the administration, personnel, and everybody who works there cares so much about the kids!” CEA says that despite changing times and technology, “CEA’s essence remains intact. Conchita’s beliefs in the power of the spirit, the wealth of the mind, the sacredness of childhood, and the strength of following one’s dreams, continue to live on as part of her legacy.”
