About the school
Fantasticland Learning Center (FLC) offers programs for children age one through five, including VPK. In addition to their preschool program, Fantasticland offers kindergarten, summer camp, after-care, ballet and soccer. Opened in 2016, Fantasticland focuses on providing children with a “rich and diverse learning environment.” The center is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 9:00 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Parents describe FLC as “very clean and well maintained” and its staff as “very professional and friendly.”
Educational philosophy and administration
Fantasticland Learning Center believes that “children thrive when provided a safe and nurturing environment that encourages exploration and creativity.” They adhere to a philosophy that they describe as “big picture” with the intention of fostering “a rich learning environment with opportunities to explore, interact, question, and create.” Their low teacher-to-student ratio allows for individual attention. Parents comment that “the classrooms were beautiful, there are toys appropriate for every age everywhere, the staff is extremely friendly, everything was clean, everything was wonderful” and that the curriculum is “awesome.” A lunch program is offered as well as indoor and outdoor play spaces. FLC works closely with parents, keeping them informed regarding daily lesson plans, and allowing them to visit anytime throughout the day. Director Esperanza Alvarez leads the staff at Fantasticland Learning Center, which parents call “very reliable” and FLC describes as “highly experienced and well-educated teachers” and “sensitive to each child’s developmental abilities and needs.” The director is praised by parents for being “wonderful, kind, close, and always present at the center” while the staff gets high marks for being “very attentive and always open to our questions.”
