About the school
First Launch Prep (FLP) offers full-time and part-time programs for children age six weeks through five years, including VPK. FLP began serving families in the Westchester neighborhood of Miami in 2021. It’s open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm, with after-care. The school is committed to motivating children and providing safe places for them to develop. One parent describes the facility as “by far the best school ever. Thank God we found you. Always grateful.”
Educational philosophy and administration
First Launch Prep implements The Creative Curriculum, which the program’s publisher describes as a “comprehensive, research-based curriculum that promotes exploration and discovery as a way of learning, enabling children to develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical thinking skills.” Lessons also incorporate STEM and nature discovery. Students can participate in enrichment activities including gardening, dance, music, cooking, mindfulness and yoga. FLP also offers a wide range of sports. Director Melina Rodriguez leads the staff at First Launch Prep. The school offers a number of measures to keep students safe, including a secured entry with keypad access and live video feeds of all classrooms.
