About the school

Pride and Joy Learning Center is an early childhood learning center located in Oakland Park that is committed to providing all children with interactive and engaging experiences that support early learning growth and development. Pride and Joy Learning Center is a licensed childcare provider in the state of Florida. In order to obtain this certification, centers must maintain a safe and clean environment for children filled with developmentally-appropriate toys and play spaces. Pride and Joy Learning Center is a larger early childhood school, providing students with a broad assortment of resources to better meet individual student needs and ample space for children to play, learn, explore, and interact with others.

Educational philosophy and administration

Pride & Joy Learning Center follows the Abeka curriculum, emphasizing phonics and early language development. The curriculum’s creators say their program “turns play time into learning time, laying a strong academic foundation that prepares each child for the next level of their educational journey.” The school strives to create a stimulating, spontaneous, and individually-tailored learning environment where each student is given ample attention. Two extra floater teachers make sure classes are always well-staffed. The school believes in “motivating a child through consistent and stimulating input.” To help make that happen, children can participate in various hands-on activities, including music, phonics, numbers, physical play, art and science projects, dramatic play, American Sign Language and Spanish. The school incorporates Christian lessons through biblical stories, as well as “singing Bible songs along with other musical activities.” One parent appreciates the school’s methods, praising, “I love this place. I am very happy to send my daughter, she loves it, the teachers are excellent, and I have seen a lot of progress.” Linda Rademacher founded Pride & Joy Learning Center. Linda has a bachelor’s in elementary education and a Bachelor of Science degree in early childhood education. Many of the center’s teachers have college degrees in education, and at least two have their master’s degree. The teachers work hard to make sure students develop a passion for learning and a love for God at an early age. One parent appreciates the work the staff does: “We love this school; the staff is so amazing and really goes above and beyond for the children.”
