About the school

Learning Scope Academy offers full-time and part-time programs for children age one through five. The facility also offers winter and summer camps and after-care for children through age 12. Located in Vizcaya Square, Learning Scope has served families in the Plantation community since 2013. Open 6:00 am to 7:00 pm, the Academy’s mission is to “provide high-quality preschool education, creating life-long learners of our children.” One parent calls it “absolutely the best Preschool in Broward.”

Educational philosophy and administration

Learning Scope Academy implements a curriculum “geared to your child’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.” The academy employs HighScope, a research-based curriculum that prioritizes active learning. The school emphasizes that “teachers and children are active partners in the learning process.” Kids learn in various settings including a “house area, art area, block area, small toy area, computer area, reading and writing area.” Classrooms provide spaces where “the shelves are tagged with child-friendly labels so that children can easily retrieve and put away materials themselves.” Children also participate in group activities and are taught how to resolve conflict. Learning Scope is owned by Janeth Trujillo, an educator with a Master’s in Early Childcare and more than 24 years of experience in the field. Parents describe the staff at the academy as ”very nice, professional” and “wonderful, attentive [and] experienced.” They also note that each room has security cameras. One parent feels “blessed to have such warm and loving place for my daughter” and highlights that it “feels like I leave my child with a family member every day.”
