About the school
Neighborhood Kids provides full-time preschool programs, including VPK. The center also offers before-care and after-care. Established in Wellington in 1977 and formerly named The Little Place, the facility is open from year-round from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. This APPLE accredited center has a “well supervised playground where the children can play in a safe and secure area.” One parent shared, “I went here as a child and loved it, and now my daughter is there and loves it.”
Educational philosophy and administration
Curricular activities at Neighborhood Kids include reading, puzzles, outdoor games, special presentations and “a full range of educational” offerings. According to one parent, “The Little Place is a phenomenal school.” The same parent shared that their “oldest was wonderfully prepared for school” and their “three-year-old grows more and more every day.” Director Barbara Jean Hall oversees a staff that one parent says “cares about the kids and listens to your concerns as a parent.” Another commented, “The entire staff is amazing and treats you like family. It is such a great feeling to know that your child is with great people and learning tons.”
